Can you believe that it’s autumn already? ?
Only God knows what’s happening to the summer here in the UK. It’s lasting a lot more than it’s usual hot three minutes, that’s for sure! (British weather, you’ve got to love it.)
Still, autumn is most definitely my favourite season. I love the orange, brown and red hues of the leaves on the trees and on the ground when they fall (hang about… is that why my transatlantic friends refer to this beautiful season as ‘fall’?).
I love the way the air smells during this season, the feeling of arriving home, all cosy and warm and out of the rain that usually falls at this time of the year (… is this why autumn is referred to as ‘fall’ in the US?).
However, as it’s still warm here in the UK and I’m sure in most places around the world people are also experiencing the last days of summer, there’s still time to enjoy some delicious summer recipes before the days start to get shorter and cooler.
So today, I’ve rounded up some of my favourite 2016 summer recipes for you to try out and enjoy before autumn truly kicks in.
From Lindsay’s and Bjork ‘s (at Pinch of Yum) refreshing and healthy peanut butter cup nice cream, to Jennifer’s (over at Show me the Yummy) delicious no cook avocado and shrimp salad , there’s something to suit all taste buds and happily see in the last of the summer days, where ever you are.
As usual all of these recipes – whether gluten free or paleo – are all healthy and therefore good for you, with the added bonus of being kind to your waist line, so give these recipes a go and as always, enjoy. ?
